Your Deployment Diet

Our relationship with food can be a complex one. How we are feeling can impact on whether we become best friends with the biscuit tin or perhaps go to the other extreme of not wanting to eat at all.

You may not think that “deployment” will affect your eating habits but it will. This is especially true for partners without little ones who are now back resigned to the meal-for-one counter again. It’s not very exciting preparing dinner just for you and let’s face it, after a day at work, can we really be bothered.

Sometimes you can be so busy looking after other people that you can forget about looking after yourself.

Any children will soon copy bad eating habits so it is essential that their diet is a healthy one too. You may, without meaning to, try and cut a few corners and get so fed up and low that you just cannot be bothered to cook. It is best to have a main routine that you can stick to.

There is no point in preaching about having a healthy diet. Everyone knows how important it is to have a good eating regime – its just trying to find the time, the inclination and the energy to do it.  But try if you can. Regular healthy meals will give you the extra strength you need to take on the running of the house, looking after the children, keeping the in-laws happy and writing those mountains of e-blueys.   It’s a massive juggling act!

Sometimes you know that only a Mars Bar will do! But for all those other times, here is the Food Standards Agency - Top 10 Tips to Eating a Healthy Diet
