MODern Housing Solutions

MODern Housing Solutions (MHS) is a company contracted by Defence Estates Operations Housing (DE) to carry out maintenance tasks in the homes of 45,000 Service Families in England and Wales.


If you have a problem with anything to do with your service quarter then they are the people to contact. Whether it’s a blocked toilet or an electrical fault, they are contracted to fix it for you.


You can report a defect to the MHS Help Desk on the free phone number

0800 707 6000   any day of the year.

When you contact the Helpdesk, you will be asked to select which zone you live in as follows:

·                Option 1 -South East Zone

·                Option 2 -South West Zone

·                Option 3 -London Zone

·                Option 4 -East Zone

·                Option 5 -West Zone

·                Option 6 -North Zone

If you are not sure which area you are based in the go to the MHS website and click on their and they have a postcode file that you can use which will tell you.

Alternatively, make your best guess and if you get it wrong then the telephone operatives will be able to help you. Although we all have a good joke about MHS their help desk is very good and will always help you out where they can.

They do obviously deal with masses of queries and quite often it’s a surprise what is considered an emergency (rats in the house are not apparently). If you feel that you are not getting the right help from MHS then talk to your welfare officer who will be able to help you.  You pay for your quarter so you are entitled to get things repaired when they break so don’t be frightened to make a fuss.
